Hotel in Downtown Jamestown to Become DoubleTree by Hilton

Hamister Group, LLC announced today that they have officially signed a franchise agreement with Hilton DoubleTree for the re-development of the former Ramada in Jamestown, NY.  DoubleTree by Hilton is a full-service upscale brand under the Hilton Worldwide umbrella.
 
Hamister Group, LLC purchased the property located at 150 West 4th Street in Jamestown in late 2013.  As a result of the building’s significant disrepair, the company elected to close the hotel while they worked through the various approvals and plans.  The franchise agreement with DoubleTree by Hilton is one of the many important steps to moving this project forward. 

“Hilton is the most widely recognized name in the hotel industry with an extremely loyal customer base.  We couldn’t have asked for a better partnership for the re-development of this centrally located property in downtown Jamestown,” said Daniel Hamister, Senior VP and Chief Investment Officer of Hamister Group, LLC.  “We greatly appreciate the support we have received from Mayor Teresi and his team from the time we purchased this property and we look forward to a long and very successful working relationship.”

Samuel Teresi, Mayor of Jamestown said, “This is exactly what we have been hoping for and working towards since day one; a top level developer like Hamister Group and a premier brand like Hilton DoubleTree coming together to address the need for a high quality, full service hotel in the local market.”  Mayor Teresi further commented, “During the coming months we look forward to working with Hamister Group and Hilton representatives, along with our partners at the County and State levels, to bring this multimillion dollar signature project to fruition in Downtown Jamestown.”

Plans for this project call for a fully renovated 146 room full-service hotel with restaurant, and 4,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space.   Next steps include design work and the construction bidding process.  Construction is expected to being this fall with a projected opening of Summer 2015.

Hamister Group, LLC is a hotel and healthcare management company that owns and operates Hotels in Pennsylvania, Mississippi and Tennessee, Assisted Living Facilities in Western New York (Amherst, Orchard Park and Pittsford) and a Home Health Care Agency in Potsdam, New York.  They currently have several projects in various stages of development including the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Buffalo which will open this fall, a hotel development in Niagara Falls, NY and an expansion of their Assisted Living Facility in Orchard Park, NY.
